Sharing is Caring

Cameroon is the latest African country to end its domestic league season due to coronavirus pandemic.

Football activities in Cameroon were suspended in mid-March to minimise the spread of coronavirus.

PWD Bamenda, who were on top of Cameroon’s top tier when the league was suspended, have been declared champions by Fecafoot, Cameroon’s football federation.

With 6 rounds of fixtures remaining, Bamenda were leading Coton Sport by one point and had also played one match fewer.

It’s the first title for PWD Bamenda and they’ve now qualified for next season’s Champions League football.

No team will be relegated from the top flight, but the top two sides in the second division are promoted to an expanded 20-team league next campaign.

All of Cameroon’s leagues have ended. Louves MINPROFF have been declared champions of the Women’s League.

Other African countries that have already ended their domestic campaigns include Angola, Kenya, Mauritius, DRC, Kenya and Niger.
