The famous American comedian Billy Cosby has been taken to court by Lili Bernard for alleged drugging and rape in Atlantic City around August 1990.

Court documents on the case reveals that Lili alleges that she met Billy Cosby of  “The Cosby Show” and in July 1990 he offered to mentor  Lili in her acting career. Cosby asked her questions about her personal life and told her he would view her as if she were his own daughter, and warned Lili of “the sexual pressures of Hollywood,” the suit papers state.

Cosby allegedly promised to feature Lili in a role on his show “if she worked hard and followed his directions.” The lawsuit states that Cosby “violently, and without permission grabbed and squeezed” her breasts during an exercise in vocal projection.

Lili Bernard alleges that around August 1990, Billy Cosby drugged and raped her at the Trump Taj Mahal casino resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This was after asking her to travel there tricking her that he was arranging for a meeting with a producer who would help in her career.

“This is just another attempt to abuse the legal process, by opening up the flood gates for people, who never presented an ounce of evidence, proof, truth and/or facts, in order to substantiate their alleged allegations,” said Andrew Wyatt who is Cosby’s spokesman.

“Mr. Cosby continues to maintain steadfast in his innocence and will vigorously fight ANY alleged allegations waged against him and is willing and able to take this fight to the highest court in these United States of America,” Wyatt stated.

Lili Bernard has previously accused Billy Cosby of assault. She spoke to media outside the courthouse when he was found guilty of 3 counts of aggravated indecent assault in April 2018 for drugging and sexual assault of Andrea Constand another accuser. This is alleged to have happened at his Pannsylvania home.

A civil lawsuit filled in 2005 by Constand indicate that Cosby had admitted to purchasing prescription Quaaludes to give women he wanted to have sexual intercourse with. However, he never admitted having drugged any of his accussers. Cosby agreed to a civil settlement in 2006.

In June, Cosby’s criminal conviction was overturned and he was released from prison after the highest court in Pennsylvania said that Cosby’s due process rights were violated.

Lili Bernard stated in her lawsuit that Cosby prepared a beverage for her to drink after which she started feeling dizziness, weakness and an urge to vomit. She later vomited and lost consciousness.

The lawsuit describes Lili going in and out of consciousness, she woke up and found Cosby undressing her despite her saying “no” and woke up later and found Cosby on top of her naked and raping her. She finally awoke naked in bed the next morning.

Lili alleges that Cosby threatened her that he would file a police report against her is she went to the police and he would prevent her from working in the entertainment industry if she reported what happened.

Lili Bernard said that she has suffered mental, physical and psychological trauma and as a result she is seeking $225 million in damages according to the lawsuit.

“I have waited a long time to be able to pursue my case in court and I look forward to being heard and to hold Cosby accountable for what he did to me. Although it occurred long ago, I still live with the fear, pain and shame every day of my life,” Lili Bernard told media.

Billy Cosby is well known as Dr. Cliff Huxtable on the classic TV series ‘The Cosby Show,’  has been accused of sexual assault by more than 36 women, however he has never been charged for any of the allegations.

Last week, three other women accused Billy Cosby of sexual assault. Cosby’s lawyers have previously dismissed similar allegations against the comedian. The lawyers described those allegations as “defamatory” and “discredited.”
