Kipipiri Member of Parliament Amos Kimunya has replaced Aden Duale as the Majority Leader in the National Assembly.

This follows a Jubilee Parliamentary Group meeting held at KICC on Monday. The meeting was chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Deputy President William Ruto was in attendance.

Reports indicate that 126 out of 176 Mps of Jubilee Party signed a petition supporting Aden Duale’s ouster.

William Rutos’s allies have been targeted in the ongoing purge.

During the Jubilee Party Parliamentary Group meeting held earlier this month, National Assembly majority whip Benjamin Washiali and his deputy Cecily Mbarire were kicked out.

Igembe North Member of Parliament Maoka Maore replaced Cecily Mbarire and Benjamin Washiali was replaced by Navakholo Member of Parliament Emmanuel Wangwe.

Last week, the speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi confirmed that Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa was removed from the Budget committee.

Gladys Shollei was also relieved of her duties from the Legislation committee. Others shown the door include Moses Kuria, Fred Kapondi, Khatib Mwashetani, Cate Waruguru, Robert Pukose and Alice Wahome.

The Jubilee Party earlier made changes to the Senate majority leadership. Senator Kipchumba Murkomen was replaced by Samuel Poghisio as the Senate Majority leader.

Nakuru County senator Susan Kihika, who was the Senate chief whip, was replaced by Irungu Kangata of Muranga County.
