Sharing is Caring

A 30-year-old diver died when his parachute failed to open during a skydiving competition.

The man was participating in a solo wingsuit jump at Jurien Bay, north of Perth, on Sunday at 1.30 pm. He was competing at the Virtual Nationals Skydiving Competition.

Emergency crew rushed to the scene to help but the victim did not make it.

“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends,” said the spokeswoman for the skydive.

The Australian Parachute Federation and the Civilian Aviation Safety Authority will conduct investigations about the accident.

Tourists and daredevils are known to visit Jurien Bay to sky dive and this is not the only death that has been reported from the location.
