Five (5) Bulgarian football fans were arrested for racial abuse of black soccer players from England during the Euro 2020 qualifying match. This happened on the night of October, 14. 

Police conducted investigations and arrested the 5 fans who targeted black soccer players during a match in Sofia.  

Despite the racist chants and salutes, the Three Lions players won 6-0 victory in Sofia, Bulgaria.

As a result of the racist chants, Borislav Mihaylo, President of Bulgarian Football Association, resigned. 

UEFA management has made known its plans to conduct disciplinary proceedings against Bulgaria for  disruption of national anthem, throwing objects and racist behavior during the match.
