Vladimir Potanin owns shares in Norilsk Nickel since 1995 and today he owns a third of the company.
Vladimir Potanin was elected as Deputy Prime Minister under President Boris Yeltsin. The billionaire spent $2.5 billion developing a ski resort known as Rosa Khutor. This was used during the 2014 Olympics.
Vladimir Potanin purchased Rosbank in 2022 from Societe Generale. He also owns 35% of Tinkoff Bank which he acquired from its founder Oleg Tinkov.
Vladimir Potanin graduated with a Masters in Finance from Moscow Institute of International Relations.
