Right now I’m at the view point the Great Rift Valley View Point Limuru. So what we have down here is the Rift Valley and then I’m at the at the few point So uh the Rift Valley has many many many things you can see Uh down there there is a quarry .
This is a quarry . This one this is a quarry Uh that one uh there is uh satellite dishes the Earth satellite dishes somewhere there and now there is a bigger feature which is the mount Longonot.
Mt Longonot is an inactive this is an inactive uh volcanic mountain in the Rift Valley it is known as mount Longonot you can clearly see it from the viewpoint here on the highway the Nairobi-Nakuru highway Uh this is what you can be able to see from here But there is many other features that you can see when you are here at the View point. So the major ones is uh the the mount Longonot is the biggest um this is a volcanic mountain uh inactive one with a crater on top.
There’s a crater on top of that mountain and then um so you can see the crater This is the mountain you are seeing and then you can be able to see the earth satellites uh which are found at Suswa and Mount Longonot are not very far away from each other It’s a distance of like uh 50 kilometers uh or less and that is what you can be able uh to see this morning That’s my view That is my view this morning There is a quarry down here.
This is nara It’s actually a walking distance Uh there is a quarry down here Shops like this green far curio shop There is Mount Kenya curio shop There is padding Africa curio shop There is Jambo 11 curio shop Curio shops they sell curio to travelers and also to to tourists who make a stop over here.
So the mountain is now even uh well a lit with sunshine that is um Longonot mount Longonot So now let me take you to the place I promised you to show you the junction to the junction I will show you the junction.
All right Let me take you to show you the junction The junction we were talking about which takes you to Kijabe the junction which takes you to various other places including to Mai Mau.
So for those people for those of you who fear using the escarpment road this is your chance to have an alternative I have like two people who have once told me that they cannot use the escarpment road because it is very dangerous.
It looks very dangerous to them So they would avoid it by all means So now don’t fear there are alternatives I’m going to show you an alternative road which you can use you can make use of All right So there is a lot of traffic this morning I don’t know where people are running to There are so many vehicles coming and going Uh it seems like people are in hurry This is where we are Oh it is near the funeral home There is Poleni uh Poleni Funeral Services.
There is App Home Funeral Home That is a strange name So this is where it’s near HR It’s it is written NYAMBARI but the KikuyuS is called it Nyambari is where now we have branched off the road which we have taken now This is that road which I was telling you about the road which I showed you This is the road.
This is what it looks like I think I should change to uh All right So this is the road I wanted to show you if this tarmac is a proper tarmac really tarmac Uh there is a seems like there was a quarry over here I will take you to some point then we just come back .
We will not continue the entire stretch It’s just to show you that there is a new tarmac here Uh so when you reach the if you are going to Narok or to Mai Mau from Nairobi when you reach Rironi uh you just continue as if you are going to Naguru you will reach a place called um Nyambari or NYambari.
On on Google maps it is Nyambari Sukumawiki market So once you are at Nyambari Sukuma Wiki market you will uh move a little bit ahead.
Then the tarmac you find on your on your left when you are coming from Nairobi or on your right when you are coming from Nakuru.
That is the tarmac you will take It’s new tarmac Nearby there is a sign post for app home funeral home. So once you take that uh tarmac you will get uh to this road which adds to the road heads to Kijabe So also those people who are going to see their patients at Kijabe uh this is the road you would be using,
I believe All right So um I’m going to am I going to take another. I will branch off somewhere here I don’t want to go back I want to use this rough road. This rough road will help me get home You know I stay around here So I know this place I know the PA roots So uh so for me I’m lucky I’m not going to go back I will use this pa roots I’ll use the pa root to go back home I don’t have to go back to I I just came to show you the the new tarmac which is uh connecting the Nairobi Nakuru highway connecting it.
