Gunther Holtorf and his partner initially set of to tour Africa but afterwards ended up touring a total of 215 countries around the world.
They crossed 410 borders outside Europe, their car Ótto’ boarded 41 Ocean shipping containers and 113 deep sea ferries.
The Merdes Benz was only involved in an accident only once in the 26 years.
Gunther Holtorf started his world tour in 1988 and ended it in 2014. Before he commenced the world tour he served as the CEO of Lufthansa for three decades. He used his savings to travel the world with his third wife and his car named Otto.
What is amazing is that the couple was able to achieve this milestone without sponsorships or social media posts.
