Emmanuel Besnier, 54, is the majority shareholder of Lactalis which is the largest dairy company in the world generating $30 billion in annual revenues.

 

Lactalis was founded in 1933 by Emmanuel Besnier’s grandfather. Its milk and cheese products include Siggi’s yogurt and Stonyfield.

 

Lactalis employs over 85,000 people who work in 266 factories spread across 51 countries globally. The billionaire lives in Laval in France.

 

Emmanuel Besnier has been nicknamed “the Emperor of Cheese” and “French Howard Hughes” and he is press shy.

 

On his first day in the dairy business the billionaire’s father collected 17 liters of milk.
