Iris Fontbona net worth is estimated to be $28.1 billion. She is 82 year-old widow of Andronico Luksic who made his wealth in mining industry as well as from beverages. He died of cancer in 2005.

Iris Fontbona inherited the businesses and runs it with his two sons. The family also controls Antofagasta Plc which owns copper mines in Chile. The company also trades in London Stock Exchange.

The family also owns a majority stake in Quinenco which has operations in manufacturing, beer and banking.

Jean-Paul Luksic (one of Iris sons) is the chairman of Antofagasta while Andronico Luksic (second son) was the boss of Quinenco from 2013 until 2023 when he stepped down.

Iris lives in Santiago, Chile in Latin America. Her son Andronico climbed Mount Everest in 2004. One year later he completed the Seven Summits of the World by reaching the highest peaks on every continent.

Iris Balbina Fontbona is also in media business in addition to mining. She inherited Antofagasta PLC from her late husband Andronico Luksic Abaroa who died from cancer in 2005. She now stands as the richest person in Chile. In addition to that she is the third wealthiest person in Latin America. To crown it all, she is the 9th wealthiest woman in the entire world.

The family is in copper mining business which is one of the largest in the world. Antofagasta is based in Santiago. As indicated above the family is in banking business with their control of Banco de Chile. Their company Madeco manufactures copper products.

The family controls CCU which is in the largest brewing business in Chile. Their shipping company is named CSAV and it is the 16th largest shipping firm in the world.

Iris is the boss of some of the largest companies in the world. She also owns a number of luxury hotel chains as well as resorts in Croatia.

After her husband died, she acquired 70 percent stake in Canal 13 which is a Television station in Chile.

Iris Fontbona was born in 1942. She met her husband when she was 17 and he was 15 years older than her. She married him by the time she was 20 years old. Fontbona is the step-mother of Andronico Luksic Craig. Her son Guillermo Luksic died of lung cancer in 2013.

Iris Fontbona owns three homes where she spends her time in Santiago, Belgavia in London and Liechtenstein.

Iris Fontbona keeps a low profile because she does not grant any media interviews.
