Klaus-Michael Kuehne is a businessman in the logistics business and serves as honorary chairman of Kuehne + Nagel International AG which is based in Switzerland.

The company was cofounded by his grandfather in 1958. He became company CEO in 1966.

The billionaire owns 30 percent of Hapag-Lloyd which is in shipping and logistics.

In 2022 he acquired a 17.5 percent stake in Lufthansa which is a German airline carrier. He effectively became the airline’s single largest investor.

The billionaire transformed Castell Son Claret which is 600 years old into a luxury hotel. He also built another hotel known as The Fontenay in Hamburg.

Klaus-Michael Kuehne is the only child in his family and has no children. Once he dies, a charitable foundation will be in charge of running his wealth.
