As a result of working from home we are spending more time staring at our computer and smartphone screen for work, education and entertainment. 

Excessive use of computers, tablets or smartphones can lead to a range of problems such as having dry eyes, blurred vision, headaches, eye fatigues and irritated eyes. 

Here is how you can protect your eyes: 

  • Apply the 20-20-20 approach so that for every 20 minutes spent in front of your screen, take a break and stare at something else in front of you 20 feet away for 20 seconds; 
  • blink more frequently when using your computer or phone; 
  • make sure you sit 18-30 inches away from the computer screen; 
  • Tilt the screen slightly backwards; 
  • after making all these adjustments and you still have problems with your eyes then seek the services of an optician or ophthalmologist;
