Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach hosts New Year’s Eve to Reveillon.

This is the largest New Year’s celebration which brings together more than 2 million natives of Rio known as cariocas.

The people meet on the beach wearing white attires and they occupy 2.5 mile stretch of sand beaches.

The Brazilians pray to the goddess of the sea known as lemanja.
