400 Mawozo is a notorious gang with operations in Port-au-Prince, Haitian Capital.
This gang is known for kidnappings and killings of both Haitians and foreigners.
The 400 Mawozo controls Croix-des-bouquets area including Ganthier. This is where they kidnap, kill and extort business owners.
The 400 Mawozo loosely translates into “400 inexperienced men”
Last year, Haitian police disseminated a poster of the 400 Mawozo alleged leader known as Wilson Joseph. He was being sought for attempted murder, murder, car theft, kidnappings and commandeering of trucks carrying goods.
Wilson Joseph goes by the name Lanmo Sanjou meaning “death doesn’t know which day it is coming.”
