Putin authorized mobilization of 300,000 reservists to help him replenish his soldiers in Ukraine. But what will they be dying for? Ukraine soldiers can say, ‘we are defending our country.

 

Russia is increasingly losing control of Ukraine and according to analysts from the West, Putin is running out of options. Ukraine has already liberated Kharkiv and some of the regions once controlled by Russia.

However, Putin won’t let go that easily, he has encouraged the regions currently conquered by Russia to sign up for referendum to vote. After this, they will be considered integral parts of Russia.

 

The West and its allies declined the move and if the results favor Putin, they will not consider it.

 

In reports, Russian forces are increasingly losing moral because their lack the reason for the fight compared to their opponents who fight with determination to liberate their country.

 

Meanwhile, immediately Putin announced mobilization of reservists, there have been demonstrations in the streets of Russia.

 

Over 1,200 activists against war have been detained. One Russian who did not want his name disclosed said their President could drop a bomb on their heads.

 

Vesna, an opposition movement on the other hand said in a statement: “Thousands of Russian men — our fathers, brothers and husbands — will be thrown into the meat grinder of the war.”

 

“What will they be dying for? What will mothers and children be crying for?”

 

Meanwhile, protestors in Moscow are handed a 15-year jail term. Soldiers who surrender from war are also awarded minimum of 10 years in prison.

 

Reports say that some Russians are willing to leave the country.

 

Speaking in a video during the United Nations meeting held at New York, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that Putin should be isolated.

 

He urged other world leader to punish Putin. Zelenskyy also claimed to be confidence that his troops will win the war if supported with weapons.

 

He said: “We can return the Ukrainian flag to our entire territory. We can do it with the force of arms. But we need time.”

 

The UN promised to impose more sanctions on Russia.

 

Meanwhile, there are fears that if Russia’s plan of referendum to take the southern and eastern regions of Ukraine goes through, the war will obviously escalate and in favor of Putin.

 

Putin is confident with his arsenal and could use it any time to protect his country.

 

He said: “When the territorial integrity of our country is threatened, to protect Russia and our people, we will certainly use all the means at our disposal,” Putin said.
