For instance, in El Salvador, heavily armed military personnel forced their way into the national assembly to coerce them to approve a budget of $109 million which will be spent on modernizing the military.
The fully armed members of the armed forces had accompanied the country’s president Nayib Bukele to the legislative assembly.
Opposition members of parliament immediately cried wolf and said this is the most unprecedented level of intimidation.
The El Salvador president is keen on using the loan to modernize the operations of the police and other armed forces.
The president who is 38 years old has reported that his government will use the loan to purchase uniform, surveillance equipment and helicopter to help his government in dealing with murderous gangs in the Central America republic.

There are powerful criminal gangs in El Salvador which is a contributing factor to the high homicide rate which currently was 35.6 homicides per 100,000 people in 2019.
President Nayib Bukele is keen in ending the criminal gangs in El Salvador and making his country safe.
