Uganda health authorities have announced a downward revision of coronavirus cases following President Yoweri Museveni’s directive to erase all foreign lorry drivers from the tally.

According to the World Health Organisation, Uganda had confirmed 260 coronavirus cases by Wednesday. However Uganda Health minister has confirmed that the number is 145 after revision.

Dr Jane Aceng said that the count of all foreign drivers who tested positive will be added to their respective countries.

Uganda has not revealed the nationalities of the affected drivers. The Health ministry said more than 124 drivers were handed to their countries since President Museveni made the directive.
