Thika town was set aside as the industrial district of Kenya.
This was and still has the leading industries such as the cooking oil manufacturer -Bidco Oil Industries, flour-milling companies such as Soko among others.
The setting up of Kiambu County headquarters would have boosted the place by great proportions.
How did they decide to set base at Kiambu town which is quite obsecure in my opinion.
Thika is located near Thika Road and is a hub connecting Kenyans from the rest of Kenya to Garissa, Isiolo, Lamu, Wote, Nyeri, Muranga, Nanyuki, Tana River and other places.
According to Census 2019 report, Thika town had a population of 279,429.
