Sharing is Caring

The extradition hearing for prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary in Lilongwe, Malawi, has been postponed until 15 March 2021.

Terrance Baloyi, Bushiri’s lawyer, confirmed in South Africa on Monday that they wanted the magistrate hearing the matter to recuse himself as he had also earlier issued a warrant of arrest against the Bushiris.

The Bushiris were arrested in South Africa in October 2020 on charges of theft, fraud and money laundering. The couple were out on R 200,000 bail each when they escaped South Africa for Malawi.

If the extradition application is granted, the Bushiris will be returned to South Africa (SA) to face charges leveled against them.
