The health authorities in Rwanda have announced the first death connected with coronavirus in the country.

The patient was a 65-year-old who returned home from a neighboring country after falling sick.

He passed away from severe respiratory complications while receiving Covid-19 treatment.

359 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Rwanda; 250 have since recovered.

Rwanda is still under lockdown. However some businesses are being allowed to reopen.

As from Monday, June 1, motorcyclists will be allowed to resume operations according to a local newspaper.

 Movement across provinces could also be permitted after more than two months of tioght restrictions.
