Grace Mugabe also nicknamed “Gucci Grace” was married by Robert Mugabe in 1996 in a lavish ceremony.

Mugabe’s reputation as a despot started in 1983. That year he sent the 5th Brigade to Bulawayo to kill the dissidents. Tens of thousands of Zimbabweans were killed in that sad event.

Grace Mugabe is known for her infamous shopping trips to Europe which made her to be nicknamed “Gucci Grace.”

Citizens raised their concerns when Grace Mugabe who isn’t  known for any academic exploits was awarded a doctorate degree by the University of Zimbabwe.

In 2017, Robert Mugabe was overthrown by the military and at that time he was 93 years old.

Despite President Emmerson Mnangagwa calling Robert Mugabe a hero, there were mixed feelings expressed on Twitter for example one Professor Makau Mutua said the following:

No one should mourn Robert Mugabe. He’s going straight to hell to join Idi Amin, …Bokassa, Muhamar Qaddafi, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, …Pinochet, Joseph Stalin, – wrote Professor Makau Mutua on Twitter.

In 2000, he chased away thousands of white farmers to pave way for Africans. This specifically made social media users declare that Mugabe was able to deliver land to Africans as opposed to Nelson Mandela who left his people landless.
