Real Madrid have secured their 34th La Liga title after beating Villarreal 2-1 on Thursday at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano .
On the other side, second-placed Barcelona suffered a 2-1 loss at home to Osasuna.
Zinedine Zidane’s side have been spectacular since the season restarted, winning 10 games in a row.
It is Madrid’s first title since 2016-17 season and they have now won the top-flight eight times more than Barcelona.
Zidane has now won a total of 11 trophies in his two spells at the club and this is his first since returning as head coach in March last year.
Madrid lost 12 La Liga games last season finishing third, but have lost just thrice this term.
The Champions League remains a possibility for Madrid but they’ll have to overturn a 2-1 first leg deficit against Manchester City to proceed to the quarter final.
The final round of La Liga matches will be played on Sunday.
