A plane carrying 72 passengers crashes in Nepal killing all. 

 

The plane crash happened in Pokhara on Sunday 15, 2023. Many rescue workers rushed to the crush site. The plane was traveling from the capital city Kathmandu. 

 

The flight was operated by Yeti Airlines which said that there were 68 passengers and four crew members. 

 

Among the passengers, there were foreigners from France, Argentina, Australia, Russia, India, Ireland and South Korea. 

 

The plane crashed between old and new Pokhara airports in Nepal. 

 

The twin engine ATR 72 plane was flying from the capital city according to the airport officials. 

 

This is Nepal’s deadiliest plane crash since 2018 when a US-Bangla Dash 8 turboprop flight from Dhaka crashed on landing in Kathmandu. A total of 51 out of 71 people on board died. 

A total of 309 people have died in Nepal since 2000 in plane crashes. 

 

Nepal is home to 14 of the highest mountains in the world including Mt. Everest. 

 

The European Union has banned Nepal Airlines from its airspace due to its safety records.
