The pilot was in a twin-tailed aircraft when the crash happened near Durst Mountain which is several kilometers from the Cottonwood Canyon Road.
It was a miracle that the pilot walked away from the crash after a forced landing. He embarked on a two hours walk to find a phone network and called 911 for help.
“Normally with these situations, we have a great deal of difficulty finding the aircraft or the people,” Brian Brendel of Mountain Green Fire told KSL News.
The pilot was not injured. He had taken off from Morgan County Airport in Mountain Green and was heading to Idaho. No information was revealed about the cause of the accident.
