Oby Ezekwesili has withdrawn from Nigeria’s presidential race but the Independent Electoral Commission has rejected her application for withdrawal from the race. She was a presidential candidate for Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN).

 

The electoral commission indicated that it’s too late for anyone to withdraw from the electoral race.

Oby Ezekwesili announced her withdrawal from the presidential race this morning. One of the INEC officials stated that November 17 was the deadline for any withdrawal from the elections race.

It is impossible for any presidential candidate to withdraw from the race now. According to the Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the 2019 General Elections, the last day for withdrawal by candidates or replacement of withdrawn candidates by political parties was 17th November, 2018 for Presidential and National Assembly Elections.
