Mario Pasalic has joined Atalanta permanently from Chelsea after the serie A club exercised an option in the terms of his loan.
Pasalic moved to Atalanta on loan in July 2018 on a season-long loan and the deal was extended for another season last year.
Atalanta have paid €15M to sign the 25-year-old midfielder.
The Croatia international joined Chelsea from Hajduk Split in 2014 but did not make a single appearance for the London-based club.
He was loaned to Elche, Monaco, Milan and Atalanta.
Chelsea’s statement read: ‘’We thank Mario for his service to the club and wish him the best of luck for the next chapter of his career.’’
In 33 appearances in all competitions for Atalanta this season, Pasalic has scored 7 goals, helping Gian Piero Gasperini’s side to challenge for the top 4 in the serie A.
Atalanta are also in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
