Manchester United head coach, Erik ten Hag, is keen to offload flops in the January transfer window. Harry Maguire and Fred have been identified in the list.
At least two flops (Maguire and Fred) have been confirmed to be offloaded from Manchester United squad in the January summer transfer.
Ten Hag, Manchester United boss, wants to build a team that scares other clubs but to start with, flops should be off the menu.
The former Ajax boss claimed that Harry Maguire had enough to improve but now has to face the axe. He repeated the same mistakes over and over again, lack of pace and poor decision making.
Maguire’s poor performance amplified during their 4-0 defeat against Brentford and 2-1 loss to Brighton and has never recovered since then.
He is not considered as Manchester United’s regular starter after the arrival of Lisandro Martinez who seeks to replace the experienced center-back.
Man Utd paid £85 million for the England international from Leicester City in 2019, but offloading the center-back could release them some pressure, especially in terms of wages.
Meanwhile, there is not football club willing to pay half the price for the experienced skipper.

Ten Hag also wants to make more center-back signings so that the new arrivals (Martinez and Varane) compete for the position for team’s benefit.
On the other hand, Fred, a Brazil midfielder, has not impressed with his ups and downs. His performance is not consistent, a habit that the boss greatly discourages.
Ten hag wants his side to have greater possession during matches, hence need to find alternatives.
