Manchester United has signed Antony from Ajax at a £85.5million fee. He wad being coached by the current Man Utd coach, Ten Hag, at Ajax.

 

 

Antony confirmed that he will deliver all his best to the club after what he said Ten Hag had invited him to be part of his plans at Manchester United.

 

 

Antony outlined that it will his pleasure to reunite with his former coach at Old Trafford. The 22-year-old winger has already signed a contract stretching for the next five years with an option of 12 months.

 

 

The Brazilian acknowledged that Ten Hag was a key role in his development while at Ajax and that his tactics brings the best out of him. 

 

 

“This is an incredible moment in my career to be joining one of the most iconic clubs in the world.”

The winger also thanked his family, coaches and team-mates for being part of him in the whole process.

 

 

“I’m thankful to everyone who has believed in me, especially my family, and all my coaches and team-mates, because I could not have got here without them.”

 

“Playing under Erik ten Hag at Ajax was perfect for me and my development.”

 

“His style of football and coaching brings out the best in me, and I am excited by what he has told me about his plans and ambitions in Manchester.”

 

“My time at Ajax was fantastic and I will always be grateful for the trust they put in me, but now I am ready for the next challenge,”

In addition, United Football Director John Murtough gave his insight about the player saying that he appears in the list of most exciting young talents in football world.

 

 

“Antony is one of the most exciting young talents in European football and has exactly the right profile for the attacking, dynamic team Erik is building.”

 

 

“We have been especially impressed by his desire to join Manchester United, and to be part of a long-term project to get the club back to the levels of performance we all expect.” John said.

 

 

Antony’s £85.5million transfer fee broke the club record.

 

He is expected to feature in the Reds squad that will face Arsenal over the weekend.
