Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has been ruled out of action for 3 weeks due to a hamstring injury he sustained in Liverpool’s defeat to Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League last-16 in midweek.

He is likely to return to action in mid-March and he is set to miss the 2nd leg against Atletico at Anfield on March 11th.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp feels Henderson was lucky.

‘’It could have been worse. We all know it was a hamstring thing.‘’ Klopp told a news conference on Friday.

‘’There are a lot of hamstring injuries around in the Premier League – Harry Kane for example, stuff like that. It’s not that bad.

‘’He will be out for three weeks or so, which is not cool. But how we see it is that we’re lucky.’’

Liverpool are 22 points clear on top of the Premier League table, with 12 games remaining. They play West Ham United on Monday.
