Leeds United have won the Championship title after Brentford lost 1-0 to Stoke City on Saturday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side confirmed their promotion to the English top-flight on Friday after West Bromwich Albion lost 2-1 to Huddersfield Town.

Leeds will now play in the Premier League next season for the first time in 16 years.

A win for Brentford would have moved them above West Brom into the second place closing the gap to Leeds to 3 points.

However, a first-half goal from forward Lee Gregory secured a win for the Potters at the Bet365 Stadium.

The win guaranteed the Potters’ survival and crowned Leeds United as champions.

Brentford remain third, a point behind West Brom, with one game left to play.
