Juventus have signed striker Alvaro Morata on loan from Atletico Madrid.

Juve will pay initial fee of €10M for this season and another €10M if they want to retain the Spain international forward for another year while there is a €45M option included to make the transfer permanent.

Morata, 27, was part of the Juventus squad in the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons.

He scored 27 goals for the Serie A champions in total and helped them to reach the Champions League final in his first season before leaving for Real Madrid.

He won five trophies in his first two seasons with the Bianconeri – two Serie A, two Coppa Italia and one Italian Super Cup.

After leaving Juventus, Morata returned to Real Madrid for a season before joining Chelsea and later Atletico Madrid.

He scored 12 league goals in 34 games for Atletico last season.

A statement published on Juventus’ website read: ”There’s nothing more exciting than a homecoming and the return of Alvaro Morata to Turin is a beautiful one at that!

”The Spanish striker’s return to Juventus is now official. The 27-year-old joins on loan from Atletico Madrid, where he has played for the last season and a half. He will be part of this year’s team, with an option for a one-year extension to the loan, plus an option to buy.”
