Jo Johnson who is Boris Johnson’s brother has just resigned as a Minister as well as Member of Parliament (MP) for Orpington.
After Boris Johnson became British Prime Minister last month, Jo Johnson was appointed as a universities minister. He accepted the position despite having a different political ideology to that of his brother. He was demanding the a 2nd Brexit referendum be held.
It’s been an honour to represent Orpington for 9 years & to serve as a minister under three PMs. In recent weeks I’ve been torn between family loyalty and the national interest – it’s an unresolvable tension & time for others to take on my roles as MP & Minister. #overandout
