James Githii Mburu is the new tax boss at the Kenya Revenue Authority. He is taking the reigns from John Njiraini.
The new Commissioner General is expected to close loopholes at KRA and improve revenue collection.
James Mburu’s appointment was announced by the Cabinet Secretary (CS) Treasury, Henry Rotich.
James Mburu was previously in charge of intelligence at KRA. He served as Commissioner of Intelligence and Strategic Operation since March 2017.
A total of 30 candidates applied for the top KRA post but only five were shortlisted. The Star Newspaper reported that Dr. Evans Kidero and his lawyer Prof. Tom Ojienda are among prominent personalities who were better by the new boss’s intelligence web.
