Sharing is Caring

An Indian woman has claimed that she gave birth to a child at age 70.  Jivunben Rabari is apparently to be one of the oldest first-time mothers globally after she and her husband Maldhari, 75, welcomed their first born son.

They told their story to the media as they stated that the child was born through IVF. Rabari further said that she has no national identity card to prove her age. However, she told journalists that she is 70 years old. This effectively makes her one of the oldest first mothers globally.

Elsewhere, another Indian woman, Erramatti Mangayamma is even older after giving birth to twin girls in September 2019. She was aged 74 years old.

Maldhari and Rabari are from Mora Village in Gujarati, India. They have been married for 45 years and they have been trying without success to have a baby until now. Finally, they were able to have a child through the IVF technology. This has proven to be effective even after menopause.

“One of the rarest cases I have ever seen,” said the couples’ doctor Naresh Bhanushali.

‘When they first came to us, we told them that they couldn’t have a child at such an old age, but they insisted,”added Dr. Naresh.

“They said that many of their family members did it as well. This is one of the rarest cases I have ever seen.”

In India, there has been numerous of women in their 60s and 70s having children through IVF.
