Indian farmers have been protesting over unfair laws which will affect their livelihoods.
In 2018-2019, an average farmer in India earned $140 per month. This has a big impact because there are 263.1 million workers in India who rely directly on farming for their livelihoods.
Farmers from Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana arrived in New Delhi traveled on foot and tractors.
On arrival, they set up makeshift camps and blocked roads in the City as they resist the unjust laws.
India is the leading producer, consumer and exporter of spices in the world. To put that in context, in 2019 India produced 68 percent of the spices that the world consumes.
Some of the leading importers of Indian spices are: United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Sri Lanka, United States of America and Thailand.
Nails, concrete barricades, dug up roads, all of these against the farmers of this land, protesting peacefully.

India also exports ginger, garlic, chili, pepper and cumin among others.
