Sharing is Caring

Hoffenheim have parted ways with head coach Alfred Schreuder with immediate effect after reaching an agreement to terminate the Dutchman’s contract.

The 47-year-old joined Hoffenheim at the beginning of the season from Dutch side Ajax and signed a contract until 2022, but the parties have now decided to go separate ways.

The team’s remaining Bundesliga games will be overseen by a committee of coaches in collaboration with director of football Alexander Rosen.

The club’s sporting director Alexander Rosen said: ‘’We had different views on important details, so a cooperation beyond the end of the season no longer makes sense.’’

“I was aware right from the start that the task in Hoffenheim would be a great challenge. The work has filled me with great joy. I thank the club for giving me the opportunity to work in the German Bundesliga,” said Alfred Schreuder.

“Unfortunately, we were unable to agree on a common path to take TSG into the future. I regret this development. However, it is not unusual to have different opinions in professional life. You have to be honest with each other and draw the appropriate conclusions,” he added.

Four rounds of games are remaining to complete the German Bundesliga. Hoffenheim sit at seventh position, two points behind Wolfsburg who occupy a Europa League spot.
