Marouane Fellaini scored a hat-trick in his first Chinese Super League match since he recovered from Covid-19.

The former Everton and Manchester United midfielder scored his hat-trick in seven minutes in the second half to help his team Shandong Luneng beat Dalian Pro on Sunday.

Dalian Professional is managed by former Napoli and Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez.

It was Fellaini’s first competitive game since he contracted coronavirus in March.

The 32-year-old was treated and discharged from hospital on April 14.

The CSL campaigned kicked off on Saturday, five months after it was initially scheduled to start due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Fellaini joined Shandong Luneng for €12M in January last year after five and a half years with Manchester United.
