Chinese police have successfully arrested a man who has been on the run for 17 years.

The man was spotted when a drone was flown into the remote forest where he has been hiding over the years.

Song Jiang, 63, is alleged to have escaped from a labor camp in Sichuan Province, China back in 2002.

The police found him living in a small cave in Yongshan, Yunnan near his hometown. Earlier on the police was tipped on his whereabouts but was unable to trace him due to the dense forest and hard to maneuver terrain.

The drone played a key role in helping the police find his camp in the forest. Song was arrest after three teams were sent to arrest him.

China News Service reported that Song found it difficult to answer police questions because he has not spoken to people for years.

Song was initially jailed for abducting and later trafficking both women and children as per the police sources.
