CYRIL RAMAPHOSA IS THE NEW ANC PRESIDENT
Comrade Cyril Ramaphosa is officially the new ANC President. When he was announced as the new president his supporters erupted with applause.
Cyril Ramaphosa has lots of experience in business. That might be what South Africa needs to transform itself to give hope to many unemployed South Africans.
Ramaphosa has been in the political scene since SA got her independence. He played a great role in writing of the new Constitution and also negotiated for “peaceful transition to democracy.”
He now becomes the top ANC official and may become the next president of South Africa. He will be replacing President Jacob Zuma whose tenure was tarnished by numerous scandals from rape to corruption.
ANC will have to do a lot to regain its reputation after the damage caused by President Jacob Zuma.
According to Tania Page reporting from Johannesburg, Ramaphosa campaigned on anti-corruption message.
Ramaphosa’s main rival Nkozana Zuma was tainted by her association with Jacob Zuma. The main task lying before Cycil Ramaphosa is to united the divided African National Congress (ANC) and prevent the loss of support for the 2019 General elections.
