Sharing is Caring

The Cabinet Secretary for Trade Peter Munya appointed Benard Njiraini as the new Managing Director of Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) on Friday.

This is after Charles Ongwae exited as he faces charges over abuse of office. Njiraini has been acting as the Managing Director of the agency since May.

Mr. Bernard Njiraini had replaced Benard Nguyo who also served on a temporary basis following the ejection of Charles Ongwae.

Charles Ongwae was arrested and charged by Kenya Revenue Authority over tax evasion. He faces over 30 counts which includes murder and abuse of power as he is said to have cleared the sale of fertilizer suspected to contain mercury in the country.
