According to Johns Hopkins University, 607, 045 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in South Africa as of Sunday at 1000HRS EAT.

South Africa is the hardest his country in the African continent. It accounts for more than half of the cases in the continent.

South Africa imposed one of the toughest lockdowns in March when the country had few hundred cases.

The country has since eased the restrictions.

A total of 1,084, 904 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in Africa. Nearly 25,000 people have succumbed to the virus in the continent.

Globally, over 23 million cases have been confirmed with the virus claiming over 804,000 lives.

The United States is the hardest hit country, with 5.6 Million cases confirmed and over 176,000 deaths.

Brazil is the second-hardest hit country with 3.5 Million cases and India is the latest country to hit 3 Million virus cases.
