Construction of Keringet Agricultural Training College

In West Pokot County a total of Ksh. 223.9 million was paid to a construction company between Sep 2015 and June 2016 for construction of a training college at Keringet.

The contract involved construction of a social hall, kitchen and a twin 3-storey building. Funny enough the contract agreement did not indicate the dates when the project will start and end. Another anomaly was noted. The county government had approved Ksh. 130 million for the project but ended up spending Ksh. 223.9 million. This means that Ksh. 93.8 million was an unauthorized expenditure. There was no supplementary budget to indicate that the project would consume more.
