China claims Taiwan, a self-governing island, is part of their motherland and until the two unifies, there should be not interference. They warned that whoever leader finds himself between them will be ‘crashed by the wheels of history’.
China has been holding a series of military drill across the island after a controversial visit of Nancy Pelosi from United States. US claims China should leave alone the self-governing island to perform its duties as a sovereign country.
During United Nations meeting, China’s foreign minister Wang Yi, claimed that there will be no peace between China and Taiwan until unification. He said: “Only when China is fully reunified can there be true peace across the Taiwan Strait.”
Taiwan separated from China in 1949 after a civil war and now a operates as a country with a functioning government.
