Sharing is Caring

China has launched numerous missiles towards Taiwan and a fleet of 10  navy warships belonging to People’s Liberation Army arriving at the median line that separates the two countries.

China also revealed that its Red Army is preparing to respond to an “enemy situation” as it conducts military drills in  the ocean surrounding Taiwan.

This retaliation has happened following a visit by Nancy Pelosi – the speaker of the House of Representatives in the U.S.

Ms. Nancy Pelosi left Taiwan on August 3, after a short trip that defied threats from China.

As a response to the defiance of Nancy Pelosi, Beijing announced military drills in the seas around Taiwan.

“Six major areas around the island have been selected for this actual combat exercise and during this period, relevant ships and aircraft should not enter the relevant waters and airspaces,”  CCTV reported.

“Long-range armed live fire precision missile strikes were carried out on selected targets in the eastern area of the Taiwan Strait,” People’s Liberation Army stated.

The military drills will  be conducted in numerous zones around Taiwan, at some places within just 20 kilometers of Taiwan shore and will ended at midday on Sunday.

China is using Dongfeng – China’s flagship of short, medium, intermediate-range as well as intercontinental ballistic missiles. Many of these weapons can wipe out entire cities in a short time. This is because they can carry nuclear payloads.

Taiwan is closely watching the drills and the ministry of defence said that the country is well prepared for conflict.

“The Ministry of National Defense stresses that it will uphold the principle of preparing for war without seeking war, and with an attitude of not escalating conflict and causing disputes,” Taiwan defense ministry statement read in part.

Taiwan has stated that the military drills by China are “an irrational move to challenge the international order.”

According to Taiwan officials, the drills violate UN rules, are a direct obstacle to free sea and air navigation and invade Taiwan’s territorial space.

Civilians from Fuzhou located in eastern China have reported seeing multiple helicopters belonging to People’s Liberation Army taking off from Pingtan Island and flying in the direction of Taiwan.

China claims Taiwan as part of its own territory and feels that they have a right to take it by force. They say this is an internal affair.
