It was obvious that Azimio la Umoja coalition had to say something about full judgment report on presidential petition released on Monday. Citizens had a chance to read into details what the Supreme Court judges considered before delivering the judgement.
Azimio led by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga accused the Supreme court of throwing out their evidence. The coalition also questioned the language used by the judges, saying they were rude.
“In our view, and we feel entitled to use the language of the Court the full decision lacks merit and is plainly “hot air.” We accordingly reiterate our objections to the reasoning of the judges. It lacks integrity in both fact and law, and is not grounded in any discernable logic,” Azimio said in a statement.
Raila added that their demonstrated by Julie Soweto during petition hearing session was legit but was dismissed. Soweto explained into details how a foreigner, Jose Camago, interfered with transmission of poll results but the panel of seven judges regarded the evidence as hot air.
Azimio also accused the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairman Wafula Chebukati of committing crime during the election period.
Meanwhile, the Azimio leader Raila Odinga assured that by 2024, the Judiciary and IEBC will be in line. Raila claimed that the two bodies were corrupt and action had to be taken. For the incoming 2027 general elections, Raila wants to ensure that voting is done manual. This will be achieved by mobilizing people and push referendums.
