Sharing is Caring

Amber Heard has said that she still loves her ex-hubby Johnny Depp but said she is also afraid that he may sue her again.

Johnny Depp sued Heard for $50 million for alleged defamation in a 2018 Washington Post article in which she wrote about her experience with domestic violence. However, she did not mention him by name in the said article.

Amber counter-sued Depp for $100 million and they were both found to have defamed each other and the jury awarded Depp $8.5 million damages.

Amber Heard, 36, had an interview with Savannah Guthrie of Today Show which aired on June 15.

This was the first interview that Amber has granted since the conclusion of the high-profile defamation trial between her and Johnny Depp.

When Gutherie asked her if she “still had love” for Depp, she said “yeah, absolutely.”

“I love him. I loved him with all my heart,” Heard said.

“And I tried the best I could to make a deeply broken relationship work and I couldn’t.”

“I have no bad feelings or ill will towards him at all,” she added.

“I know that might be hard to understand or it might be really easy to understand if you’ve just ever loved anyone.”

“I’m not a good victim, I get it,” she said.

“I’m not a likable victim, I’m not a perfect victim. But when I testified I asked the jury to see me and hear his own words, which is a promise to do this.”

“I’m scared that no matter what I do, no matter what I say or how I say it, every step that I take will present another opportunity for this sort of silencing,” Heard said in response to a question on whether Depp could sue her again in the future.

Heard was grilled about the audio clips that were played during the trial in which the actress was heard admitting to being physically abusive towards Depp. She said that she only responded to physical violence and she never instigated it.

‘I never had to instigate it, I responded to it,’ she claimed. ‘When you’re living in violence and it becomes normal – as I testified to – you have to adapt.’

Amber Heard said that she now wants to focus on raising her one-year-old daughter.
