A 13 year-old girl in Kimugul Village in Sotik hanged herself on Friday about 5PM after a short argument with her mother. Her body was found hanging from a tree.
The girl was a registered KCPE candidate at Gateway Academy. Her body was taken to Kapkatet Hospital Mortuary as investigations into the incident proceed.
Francis Ng’ang’a, the Sotik Sub-County Police Commander confirmed the incident, saying the girl used a sisal rope to hang herself.
Neighbors have confirmed that the two had bitter exchanges and that made the girl feel offended.
Francis Ng’ang’a said that they will interrogate the parents to find out what might have led to the girl committing suicide.
About 10 Suicide cases involving teenagers have been reported in the last two months.
