Many Chinese have lost their jobs and many more are their way to unemployment. Many of the Chinese are not willing to make their status public because they belief that doing so will destroy their chances of finding new employment opportunities.

Chinese economy is affected by the pandemic just like many countries around the world. As many as 80 million Chinese are already out of work. This data does not include people in the rural areas and the migrant workers who are more than 290 million in number.

According to Xinhua News Agency, Politburo -the Communist Party- has advised government officials to give priority to job security above everything in their interventions.

A professor at the Chinese University of Hong Many governments including China fear that high rates of unemployment might lead to unrest. This will be a great headache for politicians.

Find work during this time of Covid-19 has proven to be impossible. Some people are not even sure of continuing staying in Beijing.

Chinese universities and colleges are expected to produce more than 8.7 million graduates in 2020. These new entrants into the job market are expected to lead to increased competition for jobs.
