The Professional Football League (LFP) decided on Wednesday that Ligue 2 will be a 22-team competition following the global coronavirus pandemic.
Ligue 2 will be expanded to 22 clubs for the 2020-21 season, meaning no club is relegated this year after the season was cut short 🇫🇷— Goal (@goal) May 20, 2020
A good idea? 🤔
No team will be relegated from the French Ligue 2 after the season was unable to be completed following a ban on sporting activities by the French government. Pau FC and Dunkerque will move up to Ligue 2 from the third division.
Last month, Paris Saint-Germain were declared Ligue 1 Champions after the season was ended prematurely due to Covid-19.
The final standings were declared on points-per game basis. Amiens and Toulouse were relegated to French Ligue 2 while Lorient and Lens were promoted to Ligue 1.
