FC Parma have confirmed that two players at the club have begun periods of isolation after testing positive for Covid-19.

Parma revealed on their website that about 60 people were tested at the club, including players and technical staff, ahead of a return to training on Monday.
Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced on Saturday that Serie A clubs will be allowed to resume team training as from Monday.

A statement issued by Parma read: ‘’At the end of the tests, all the members of the team group tested negative for the two swabs of COVID-19 carried out within 24 hours, except for two players who tested positive for the first swab and negative for the second.

‘’The players are both in excellent physical and asymptomatic conditions, however, they were placed in immediate isolation and the club will keep them constantly monitored.’’

Serie A has been out of action since March due to the global coronavirus pandemic.

A June 13th resumption was suggested by most clubs, with inter-regional movement to remain restricted until 3rd June.
